Dear Senior
Parents:
The
Class of 2014 graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00pm at the SSFHS auditorium. Graduates will have time to be with their
families after the ceremony. They will
return to SSFHS later that evening for Grad Night, a longstanding tradition at
SSFHS that has been enjoyed by graduating classes for many years. Since
graduates are no longer SSFHS students, Grad Night 2014 is organized by a team
of parents to provide all graduates with a safe, sober, substance-free celebration
complete with fun and entertainment.
Attendees will be required to check in at 11 pm and will return to SSFHS
for pick up by approximately 12:00PM on Sunday, June 1st 2014
In
order to make this event a success, graduates must adhere to a few rules. Parents, we are asking for your help to
ensure that these rules are made clear to your son/daughter before attending
Grad Night.
·
PERSONAL
BELONGINGS: Cell phones
will be permitted.s Any personal items
(except cell phones) that are brought to Grad Night will be taken for
safekeeping and returned at the end of the event. Toiletries for freshening up
will be inspected for drugs/alcohol. No clothing affiliated with a school, sports team. you will be emailed disney rules for dress code and personal items and other rules by Disney for Grad night
·
DRUG/ALCOHOL
POLICY: A strict check-in process will be
enforced. During check-in, attendees
will be asked to empty out their pockets.
There is a no tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately, anyone suspected of being
under the influence of drugs or alcohol during check-in will not be permitted
to board the bus. Additionally, anyone
found with drugs or alcohol at the event will be detained by the event security
and the local police will be alerted.
Parents will be required to pick up their son/daughter at the police
station.
·
BEHAVIOR:
Although this is not a school-sponsored event, attendees are reminded to
act responsibly and to treat each other and the event staff/chaperones with
respect. Event staff and parent
chaperones will be discreetly present throughout the evening to make sure that
your son/daughter is safe and to make sure everything goes smoothly.
OTHER
INFORMATION
·
ATTIRE:
Graduates are asked to wear comfortable, casual clothes during the event. Ladies are advised to leave the high heels
and fancy wear at home, and come dressed in jeans and flats/rubber-soled
shoes. Upon check in, each attendee will receive a wristband which they are to
wear on their right wrist.
·
TRANSPORTATION:
Buses have been chartered for this event from a reputable transportation
company. The buses meet the state’s
safety standards mandated to transport students. Attendees should be dropped off at the
SSFHS for check-in at 11:00 pm on Friday, May 31, and picked up at SSFHS
parking lot on Sunday, June 1 at approximately 12PM. Your son/daughter will be exhausted from a
busy day and long evening, and
students should not drive themselves home – they should be picked up by a
parent at approximately 12PM. It
is imperative that everyone is picked up on time and no one is left to loiter
around the school because all chaperones will be officially off duty upon
arrival back to SSFHS.
Under
no circumstances will individuals be allowed to drive themselves to Disneyland.
Our School has special wristband pass for our school. You will not be admitted
without this wristband on.
·
MEDICATIONS:
Because the destination is a long bus ride your child should be prepared
for any situation. For example, if your
child is subject to motion sickness or is allergic to anything such as farm
animals; please be sure he/she takes the appropriate medication prior to
boarding the bus. If your child needs to
take any medications during Grad Night such as an asthma inhaler, please list
this in the enclosed medical emergency form and include specific
instructions. During check-in, the
parent representative will bag and label your child’s medication to be taken to
the event.
·
